So here's my 30 day healthy cleanse to help get your body back into balance

FASTING
Fasting, Intermittant Fasting and Time Restricted Eating (TRE) has had a recent surge in popularity of late, but fasting is a practice that dates back centuries and plays a central role in many cultures and religions. I've been doing it on and off over the last few years, and have found it really helps with Menopause symptoms, Fibromyalgia flare ups and my skin, as well as giving me lots of energy - a huge plus!

HEALTHY FOODIE
I think we all know what eating 'bad' carbs, foods with a high sugar content and 'bad' fats can do to our bodies and our health. So I'm going to keep this simple and easy so that anyone can do this - simple always works best as you are more likely to stick with it!

ESSENTIAL OILS & SUPPLEMENTS
Your health truly manifests itself from the inside out. While a healthy diet, regular exercise, and stress management are self-explanatory foundations of a health-promoting lifestyle, minimizing toxic load can be just as important. The proper functioning of your vital organs and minimizing toxic load can influence your health as much as any other controllable factor
FASTING
Fasting isn't new to me as I've been doing intermittent fasting for a while now, and then brought in TRE (Time Restricted Eating) which is fairly new, where you eat between a certain time to give you body a break to heal. I like to do the 16:8 where you fast for 16 hours and eat within the 8 hours. There's lots of really interesting scientific studies around for you to look at for fasting and TRE, so feel free to research some of these yourself, but I will put a couple of links at the bottom of this blog to help you get started. A whole ago I discovered Volter Longo and his book 'The Longevity Diet' which I read excitedly over a weekend, I just couldn't put it down. I was even more intrigued by the fasting process taking your body into autophagy, which is a vital process in which the body’s cells “clean out” any unnecessary or damaged components. Researchers have now linked autophagy to several positive health effects.

I can defintely say that after completing a 5 day fast - drinking lots of water and herbal teas, and eating veggies and a small handful of nuts at lunchtime, I felt amazing - on a high! I felt energised!

THE HEALTHY FOODIE
Food can be such a huge problem for women, spending most of our lives yoyo dieting and not really enjoying eating without feeling quilty, or watching everything we eat for fear of putting weight on. Then on top of that, what can we eat that won't cause inflammation, illness and disease in the body. There's so much mis-information out there that it's hard to know what we can eat and what can heal us. So I'm going to share with you what I've learnt, and what has worked for me.

Well, apart from fasting, eating 'living' foods was huge, and how much better I felt just by doing that! But do you know the really big difference that happened to me while on this healthy foodie journey, was how changing my perception about the food I ate had on every aspect of my healing journey. I began eating food with love, enjoyment, slowly - enjoying every single mouthful, greater awareness of how it made my body 'feel.' Wow, what a journey it's been!
